Whether you’re planning a trip to Costa Rica or already here, we invite you to become a part of our community and make a meaningful impact. If you have a special skill, talent, or simply the desire to help out, we would love to hear from you. From reading a book to sharing your expertise, every contribution enriches the lives of our students. They take great joy in meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and discovering the world beyond their classroom.

If you’re ready to volunteer at Mareas Academy, please reach out. Your unique background and skills could be just what our students need to inspire their curiosity and growth.

Join us in making a difference!

Mareas is a good school in Costa Rica. I also worked 5 months in the public schools, so I know what I'm talking about. It's good to see that there is a school, where Tico kids and kids from all over the world can learn together every day of the week, not just Monday to Thursday.

They can feel free to discover themselves through the different subjects. Also, for volunteers it's a great experience! Even though they don't know you, they trust you to do your own projects, design your own classes and work with kids.

Mareas is a wonderful school with a warm, family-like atmosphere.  The students have such a special bond with each other as well as the teachers and faculty, and their work ethic and enthusiasm is inspiring to watch.  Their location allows them to learn outside the classroom and take awesome field trips around the area.  You definitely can't find that everywhere!

Volunteering here was an incredible experience and I would recommend it to all.  The students, faculty, and parents will welcome you with open arms!  I wouldn't have wanted to spend my time anywhere else.
